My name is Melissa Wheeler Farag, a divorcee, remarried family law mediator, and recovering divorce litigator. Introduction: Who Am I? Let’s start with a little bit about my journey. Between 2020 and June 2024, I faced tumultuous changes. My mother's untimely passing from a rare genetic disease coincided with the COVID lockdown. Shortly after, my divorce became final following an amicable yet painful separation. In 2021, my father battled cancer and emerged successfully from surgery. But heartbreak struck again when my beloved boyfriend passed away due to an accidental overdose. I like to call this period the dark night of the soul, a time that thrust me into a deep exploration of spirituality as my refuge. Amidst grieving and soul-searching, spirituality saved me and reshaped my life. I dove into mediums, psychics, astrology, tarot, and many other practices as a means to heal.
Transformation Through Spirituality. Spiritual practices became a lifeline, helping to ease my social anxiety and rekindle my essence. By 2022, I was a better version of myself, and even found love again, marrying the man who stood by me during these trying times. This personal transformation made me realize the profound impact spirituality can have, not just on grieving, but on my professional life too. Divorce clients often sail through emotional storms — anxiety, anger, or the deep sadness of loss. I began suggesting ways to cultivate peace: therapy, yoga, or even meeting with a psychic or hypnotherapist. These aren't just quick fixes; they are pathways to thriving through turmoil. ### A New Approach: High Vibe Divorce In May 2024, I left my traditional law firm role to embrace my calling — pursuing mediation as a full-time career and sharing my insights through this podcast. Here on High Vibe Divorce, I offer what I call "woo-woo wisdom," crafted to reveal that life after divorce can be vibrant and fulfilling. High Vibe Divorce starts with one simple daily choice: set your divorce journey on a higher vibration. This means being solution-oriented, fostering kindness, and prioritizing mental and spiritual wellness, for yourself and those around you. With this mindset, we can help ensure the well-being of our families, especially our children.
